  • New IMA fitness center
  • Indoor climbing center
  • Four new international Squash courts
  • Indoor jogging / walking track
  • Personal Trainers Program
  • Dawg Bites Sports Cafe
  • Three new multi-activity studios
  • Night-lighted synthetic turf sports field

On campus, students also attend plays by the drama department, see artistic performances at Meany Hall, or visit the Burke Museum, the state’s museum of natural and cultural history, or the Henry Art Gallery, a collection of exhibitions and programs of contemporary and modern art. Student-led organizations also host socials and other events that are great places to socialize with people and get involved with campus issues.

Off-campus
Part of the great UW experience is having fun in and around Seattle. In addition to watching Husky football in the fall and Husky basketball in the winter, students attend professional sports including:

  • Mariners baseball games at Safeco Field
  • Seattle Seahawks games at the new Seahawks stadium
  • Seattle SuperSonics basketball games at Key Arena

For music-lovers, the Experience Music Project (EMP) is a one-of-its-kind museum dedicated to rock music. Next to EMP, students is Seattle’s true landmark, the Space Needle. From the Space Needle, the Monorail, a subway-like system above the ground, shuttles people directly to downtown where shopping is top-notch and Seattle’s famous Pike Place Public Market is only a few blocks away. Rain or shine, Pike Place Market offers a variety of products, including fresh seafood and produce, beautiful flowers and original artwork by local artists.
